1998-2002 Post Graduate student at the University of Perugia under the supervision of Prof. M. Barchi.

1999 Visiting Scholar at Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand (1/1999-6/1999), where I worked under the supervision of Prof. R. Sibson.

2002-2003 Post Doctorate at the University of Perugia. During this period I visited as Post-Doctoral Research Associate the Reactivation Research Group at Durham University (1/2003- 2/2003), where I worked with Prof. R. Holdsworth.

2004-2006 Lecturer ("Ricercatore") at the Earth Science Department at University of Perugia.

2007-present Senior Lecturer at the Earth Science Department at University of Perugia ("Ricercatore Confermato"). In this period I was Visiting Researcher at the Rock and Sediment Mechanics Laboratory at Penn State University(10-11/2008), where I worked with Prof. Chris Marone.
